Climate change - has is really got anything to do with Christians? It doesn’t sound very spiritual! Surely being a Christian means: Following God’s plan - Gen1:26 ‘Let us make mankind in our own image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’  But what if the way we are living has changed the planet, so that what God saw was ‘very good’ when he created it, is being spoiled? Loving your neighbour - Rom 13:10 ‘Love does no harm to its neighbour, therefore love is the fulfilment of the law’ What if each of us using more than our fair share of energy and resources means that our neighbour can no longer feed himself? Loving God - I Cor 10:31 ‘So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. ‘ What if my ‘eating and drinking’ is damaging God’s world and bringing dishonour to God and His church? We all want to live in a way that brings joy to God's heart, that allows others a good life and that preserves our environment. Exactly how to do it is the question. I would love to explore, discuss, read and pray about these issues with others. I don't have the answers but I’d like to learn and find practical ways to move my lifestyle in a direction that pleases our creator. If you would like to join me in this exciting (but slightly scary) adventure then please contact me, Alison Dennis.
